Fremantle

Your cruise ship will dock at the Port of Fremantle, 18 kilometres downstream from Perth, Western Australia’s capital city.

From the port, it’s an easy stroll into the heart of Fremantle. You’ll like the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of this  attractive city, with its relaxed seaside lifestyle and delightful maritime climate.

A vibrant cafe culture is a feature of ‘Freo’, as the locals call it  – along Market Street and South Terrace is the city’s famous Cappuccino Strip, the ideal place for people-watching and al fresco dining under a shady sun umbrella.

The city also has a fine suite of heritage buildings – take a wander through the historic West End precinct to admire the well-preserved Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian buildings that today are the home of galleries, bistros and local businesses.

As you’d expect, it’s a maritime city with strong links to the sea – near where your cruise ship docks  you’ll find the fascinating Western Australian Maritime Museum; and it’s a pleasant walk to Fishing Boat Harbour, home of the working fishing fleet and the scene of some wonderful seafood restaurants, as well as the famous Little Creatures boutique brewery.

Freo is a city of festivals and entertainment – catch the performances of buskers near Fremantle Market and around Kings Square or enjoy a free live concert in the courtyard of  Fremantle Arts Centre.

Welcome to our city!
